This is: "Buddies"
This portrait I created when I first started marketing pet portraits and it still one of my favorites and one of my customer's favorites.
I wanted to achieve several things when I created this piece. First, with the popularity of labs around the world, I wanted to appeal to a large audience. Secondly I wanted to show what was possible in creating an original painting. I used two separate photos that I had in my files…they were of two different client's dogs which I had painted many years apart. Then I put in a scenic background.
Many people can get a good photo of one pet at a time, but never are able to get multiple pets to sit together for a single photograph. I can use separate photos and merge them into a single painting.
I can further personalize the portrait by adding whatever a client would like in the background. A generic scene can be painted or a particular favorite place that the pet loves to go to. |
