This is Riley.
Riley is a Red and White Setter. They are the "original" Irish Setter. When the Irish was first developed, they were this color…red and white. Along the way, solid reds came along. In this country only red Irish setters have been recognized for many decades. However, red and whites have continued on in their country of origin, Ireland, and many other countries as well. They are now working their way toward being a recognized breed by the AKC.
Riley was done as a gift for my client's daughter. She was aware of the gift and I worked with her selecting the right photo. While I liked another photo, she and her husband maintained that the photo I used definitely showed Riley's personality the best. When in question, the customer is ALWAYS right…only they know their own dog!
