This portrait is a memorial gift to a loved son. Teal was a loved member of the family of the son and Teal had recently passed away. It was a challenging portrait to do...it was to be a surprise and the only photo I had to work with was a small snapshot which had the son's dad, Teal, and the bunch of ducks Teal had retrieved on the hunt that day. The dog's face was tiny in the photo, but the lighting was so nice I gave it a shot. I really liked the way it turned out and when the gift was presented to Teal's "dad", he broke down and cried. That must have been very special and I have a hard time picturing it as "dad" is a big strong guy who works as a policeman in a Wisconsin town. I love doing a job that touches people so deeply.
