This is Lucky.

There is quite a story with Lucky. He was my first Internet order and I had a wonderful time learning all about this dog from his loving owners.

This piece was a memorial to a deeply loved dog that had only very recently passed. Lucky got his name from his unusual circumstances. He was part malemute…part of an accidental litter. All of his littermates were destroyed by the breeder as unwanted…Lucky somehow escaped notice and survived. He eventually found his way into the home and hearts of my clients.

Lucky's owners sent me many photos and gave detailed descriptions of his mannerisms and personality. We discussed at length various options available to them in this portrait. While they had many photos, none was just right. So I ended up using a large number of photos to come up with a composite portrait. There was a basic pose photo, one with facial expression, one with his tail, another with the right color. Then they wanted a scenery background. Their favorite time was with Lucky in the snow in the winter. They had no pictures of him in the snow, so I had them go out and take some photos in his favorite places and used those to create a snowy background to place him in.
